Assisi School celebrated World Environment Day on June 5th, 2025, with great enthusiasm. The students of Grade 10 performed a thought-provoking skit highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, specifically addressing issues like cutting trees and littering garbage. The event also included a pledge to save trees, emphasizing the significance of preserving our natural resources.
The school was honored to have Mr. France Mundana, National Coordinator of the World Malayalam Foundation, as the guest speaker. He delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of keeping our environment clean and the role we play in achieving this goal.
The Principal, Sr. Sheeba, also addressed the students, focusing on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” She encouraged students to adopt the 4Rs:
– Reduce: Minimize the use of single-use plastics.
– Reuse: Opt for reusable alternatives.
– Recycle: Properly dispose of plastic waste and support recycling programs.
– Refuse: Decline plastic products when possible.
The distribution of saplings to students, teachers, and parents is a wonderful initiative to promote environmental awareness and encourage greenery. This effort can help foster a sense of responsibility towards nature and promote sustainable practices. By planting and nurturing these saplings, the school community can contribute to a greener environment and a healthier planet.
By embracing these practices and spreading awareness, the school community can contribute to reducing plastic pollution and protecting the environment.
